Religious Tolerance in France

The media is reporting that religious intolerance is at the root of recent riots in France.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers are working in Paris and other cities in France to cool off the civil unrest by passing out The Way To Happiness booklets and copies of anther booklet called What are Human Rights which is a summary of the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

What is the International Association of Scientologists?

The International Association of Scientologists was formed in 1984 -- 21 years ago with the following purpose:

To unite, advance, support and protect the Scientology religion and Scientologists in all parts of the world, so as to achieve the aims of Scientology as originated by L. Ron Hubbard.

As the Aims of Scientology are totally humanitarian ones and include ending insanity and war, accomplishing the purpose of the
IAS is a truly humanitarian goal.

Drug Free Ambassadors of Sydney, Australia

The Drug Free Ambassadors' blog posted this story about a recent event:

Crow's Nest Festival

Sunday the Drug Free Ambassadors made a huge impact at the Crow's Nest Festival. 396 people signed the drug-free pledge and over 1000 received information to help them stay drug free.
This campaign is an initiative of the Scientology churches in Australia and the spokesman Cyrus Brooks said of this effort: "It is incredible to hear the stories of people. One lady had taken marijuana to numb her sadness and asked for help, while another person said he had lost 3 friends through drugs and he himself had taken every drug in the book. But he was lucky enough and smart enough to draw the line and quit right there. He did and has been drug free and signed the pledge. It feels so good to be here and part of this activity."

Mr. David Miscavige Dedicates Beautiful New Scientology Churches

There have been several new churches opened over the past few years.

These are designed to provide far more Scientology introductory services that help a person with any problems or difficulties and give him or her tools to improve life.

One such was the grand opening of the Church of Scientology of Johannesburg which also marked Mr. Miscavige's first visit to South Africa.

Mr. David Miscavige dedicated the new Church of Scientology of San Francisco
The Church of Scientology of San Francisco is another of these new churches where Mr. Miscavige spoke at the grand opening.

Another was the grand opening of the Church of Scientology of Madrid, where Mr. Miscavige was joined by another very famous Scientologist - Tom Cruise.

Mr. Miscavige was also a guest speaker at the grand opening of the Church of Scientology of Buffalo, in upstate New York.

Here is some more information about churches David Miscavige has dedicated.

These churches now have the capability of offering their programs, such as literacy programs, anti-drug activities and human right education to local community groups and to train people, Scientologists and non-Scientologists alike, in basic Scientology procedures they can use to make a real difference in their communities.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers Disaster
Relief in the South

Here's a good article from the Articles Factory on Scientology Volunteer Ministers disaster relief:

Since that fateful day when hurricane Katrina made her destructive rampage through
Louisiana and Mississippi, the media focus has primarily been centered around the physical damage, financial loss and human trauma that have been left in the wake of her fury.

We hear and read about the millions of dollars in donations that have been contributed by various corporations, charitable groups, individuals and governments from around the world. Considerable attention has also been placed on massive undertakings to clean up and repair the physical damage to property and infrastructure.

However, the human element is far more traumatic, and undoubtedly the most tragic and devastating aspect of the entire disaster. We heard about children displaced from parents and family; hard working, decent citizens who lost everything that they worked a lifetime to achieve; civil unrest. It is impossible to list all of the different types of personal tragedy that have befallen individuals in this storm-battered area of the U.S.

There was one group very much involved in helping people to cope with the adverse mental and spiritual effects suffered. It is a team – a worldwide network of Volunteer Ministers, in fact – who answer to the official name of the “Scientology Disaster Response Team.” Many people of different religions have trained as Volunteer Ministers and joined the teams to help those needing aid in Mississippi and Louisiana. >>

Scientology in Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. holds a special place in the history of Scientology, as it was in Washington that L. Ron Hubbard established the Founding Church of Scientology and took on the role of Executive Director. Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s, L. Ron Hubbard delivered congresses in D.C. where Scientologists from around the world gathered to hear the latest breakthroughs in Scientology research.

On March 13th this year Mr. David Miscavige announced that all of the congresses Mr. Hubbard delivered in Washington, and those he delivered in London, Johannessburg and Melbourne were being released in CD format.

I've been listening to these lectures in chronological order and they are astounding. I highly recommend them to anyone: those new to Scientology and old-timers.

Mr. David Miscavige also announced in a recent international event that Mr. Hubbard's offices at the original premises of the Founding Church of Scientology have been completely renovated to exactly match what they looked like when L. Ron Hubbard was running that church in the 1960s. This has been turned into a museum that anyone can visit.

Several years ago the Founding Church of Scientology moved into a beautiful new premises.
Mr. Miscavige also attended the grand opening and dedicated the current home of the Church.

Human Rights

One unique thing about the Scientology religion is the emphasis it places on human rights.

Scientologists do tremendous work in this field, whether it is protecting the rights of mental patients and making psychiatry accountable for what they do to people, as members of Citizens Commission on Human rights are doing, or the Church of Scientology International Human Rights Department, who work with programs such as Youth for Human Rights to educate young people on human rights so they can become advocates of human rights in their own areas.

Scientology and the Arts

In the DVD called This is Scientology Mr. David Miscavige explains why Scientology has a "Celebrity Center" -- because L. Ron Hubbard recognized that it is artists who create the future of the civilization. As Mr. Hubbard stated: "A culture is only as great as its dreams, and its dreams are dreamed by artists." Scientology Celebrity Centre is located in Hollywood, and provides training in Scientology technology and spiritual counseling.

It is also open to the public to tour, and has a very interesting exhibit where anyone can learn about Scientology and what it is doing in the world.

In this same speech, Mr. Miscavige describes the Scientology Volunteer Ministers program which is in the spotlight again for the help they are providing after Hurricane Katrina.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers Helping after Hurricane Katrina

There is desperate need for help following Hurricane Katrina. Millions have lost their homes and everyone who can, needs to pitch in and help.

There are hundreds of Volunteer Ministers traveling to Louisiana to assist in the clean-up and to care for those who have lost their homes.

Much more help is needed.

You don't have to be a Scientologists to join this team. It's very easy to learn how to provide disaster relief. You can find out exactly where to go by visiting the Scientology Volunteer Ministers web site.

To find out more about the Volunteer Ministers you could also go into a Scientology church or mission and ask to be shown the speech Mr. David Miscavige made called This is Scientology. Mr. Miscavige describes the Volunteer Ministers in this speech.

L. Ron Hubbard - Study Technology In Full Use

Several years ago at an international Scientology event Mr. David Miscavige announced that Applied Scholastics International was going to be moving into a beautiful new campus in St. Louis Missouri, where any teachers, mentors, parents or tutors could come for training in L. Ron Hubbard study technology.

That dream came true in the summer of 2003.

Since that time educators from around the world have availed themselves of the training in L. Ron Hubbard Study Technology at Applied Scholastics.

Scientologists are very proud of the Applied Scholastics staff, and support this program whole heartedly as we know that it is only by helping the individual become more able - one by one - that we enable this planet to live in peace and prosperity.

Scientology Volunteer Ministers - A True Legacy of L. Ron Hubbard

L. Ron Hubbard's brilliance and humanity are unparalleled. Nowhere is that more evident than in the Scientology Volunteer Ministers program.

There is so much in Scientology applied religious philosophy that can be easily learned and implemented by anyone, and it works true miracles.

The most basic of these techniques were compiled into a book called the Scientology Handbook. It is so valuable because literally anyone who can read can open the book (or read it online at www.scientologyhandbook.org) and start, right away, to help people.

Compare that with what you read in the news. Bombings, suicide terrorists, terrible accidents, war. The Volunteer Ministers program is the reverse of these violent and destructive acts. And, it can reverse the effects of these scourges.

Scientology Tenets Gain Public Note

I found a good article about Scientology in the Fort Wayne Journal by Nancy Vendrely. Here are some highlights.

"Officially titled the Church of Scientology International and headquartered in Los Angeles, the church calls its beliefs 'an applied religious philosophy.' The church’s Web site defines Scientology as 'the study and handling of the spirit in relation to itself, universes and other life,' and states that 'Man is a spiritual being endowed with abilities well beyond those he normally envisages.'

She quotes Scientologist June Dold as saying:

"A person practices Scientology techniques so as to become more aware spiritually. "

The article goes on to say:

"Scientology defines God or the Supreme Being as the eighth dynamic. Each individual is expected to reach their own conclusion through religious practices. It evolves over time as you come to understand each of the dynamics. People come to their own awareness about God."

June Dold describes the Scientology handbook and says the emphasis in the Scientology religion "is on the application of exact methodologies in order to bring about change in the conditions of an individual’s life. The aim is to put a person into a condition where he can be more self-determined and live a happier, more fulfilling life . "

She also says: "I am more aware of myself as a spiritual being. I’m a happier person, more confident, relaxed, peaceful. … I used to be living for myself. Now I’m aware and considerate of other people. I used to be shy; now I use the communication techniques. In Scientology, you have to want to improve your life; you have to face your past."

Great Quotes from L. Ron Hubbard

There are some excellent short articles by L. Ron Hubbard online.

For example, one called "Accent on Ability" (which is online in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish)

Another is the essay Clean Hands Make a Happy Life, where L. Ron Hubbard makes a compelling argument for living ethically and in harmony with ones fellows.

This too is in English, French German, Italian and Spanish.

Scientology Churches

I've been to many Scientology churches, and it is always a surprise to me how friendly and helpful they are. As a matter of fact, when I first found out about Scientology and went in to find out about it at a Scientology mission in New York I couldn't believe these people "were real."

Coming out of the harsh, often catty, competitive and rude environmnet I was living in, where stress was a total way of life, and entering this place was like a shock.

But after being there for a while I realized just how real these people really were!

Mr. David Miscavige recently gave a talk, at an International event, where he quoted something L. Ron Hubbard wrote about Scientology churches where he called them Islands of Sanity.

This is so true.

One Legacy of L. Ron Hubbard

In my last posting I spoke about a recent event I attended at the Church of Scientology of Los Angeles, where Mr. David Miscavige described the activities of the Scientology Volunteer Ministers last January and February following the tsunamis.

Tens of thousands of people were trained to deliver Scientology assists (they are described really well in the Scientology Handbook) and I was amazed to find out that literally hundreds of thousands of people received assists from Scientology Volunteer Ministers and thousands of local residents were trained in these techniques.

These people have been able to get on with their lives.

Anyone who is interested can visit their local Scientology church and see the DVD presentation by Mr. David Miscavige that describes what the Scientology Volunteer Ministers did. Just ask to see the International Association of Scientologists DVD that was filmed aboard the Freewinds in June 2005.

David Miscavige

I believe Mr. David Miscavige will go down in history as a key figure of the 21st Century.

If our civilization survives it will because men and women of goodwill and vision who work to create a sane civilization.

Mr. David Miscavige is such a man. He is a real inspiration to me and other Scientologists -- to use the technology of L. Ron Hubbard to improve society one person at a time.

I have so much respect for Mr. Miscavige's drive and commitment.

Mr. David Miscavige

On March 13th Scientologists celebrate the birthday of L. Ron Hubbard, founder of the Scientology religion.

Several years ago the Kansas City Church of Scientology was awarded as the most rapidly expanding Scientology church in the world, and this was covered in their local newspaper:

More People in KC Finding Way to Scientology's Door

This event is always held by the Church of Scientology, Flag Service Organization in Clearwater, Florida -- over ecent years the event has been held at the Ruth Eckerd Hall - Center for the Performing Arts but will soon be able to hold it at our own auditorium when the construction of the new Church of Scientology building is complete.

David Miscavige is usually master of ceremonies at these events, and it is an opportunity to see how much impact Scientology is having on society. Mr. Miscavige's speaches are always very inspiring.

L. Ron Hubbard's Original Houses
Three of the homes where L. Ron Hubbard lived have been renovated as museums.

Here is some information on these houses, as described on the L. Ron Hubbard web site:

Among the places L. Ron Hubbard lived and worked, there are those of supreme significance—the landmarks of Scientology which will always resonate with his presence, and where he left an indelible stamp on our history.

Extensive research was done, with meticulous attention paid to the smallest details, to ensure this house was restored to full historical accuracy.

Three of these houses have been renovated and made into museums. They are now open to the public to visit:

Scientology Volunteer Ministers

L. Ron Hubbard's technology has reached to many corners of the world.
Here you can see the work done in India to help the people affected by the tsunami. L. Ron Hubbard has a procedure that helps alleviate the stress connected with physical injuries and illness, as well as mental anguish.

This is an assist being given to an Indian woman. She was very relieved afterwards.

The person administering the assist is a Scientology Volunteer Minister, who is trained in this technique who donated her time to go over to South-East Asia to help the people.

This is the full definition of an "Assist" :

Assists are techniques developed by L. Ron Hubbard. They operate on the principle that one tends to withdraw mentally or spiritually from an injured area. Only by restoring communication with this area can one bring the spiritual element into healing, thereby greatly speeding the healing process. Assists are used to alleviate stress and physical aches and pains, or to orient a confused or distraught individual to his present environment.

Tom Cruise & Scientology Religion

Mr. Tom Cruise is probably the world's most famous Scientologist. He has done so much to help people find out about Scientology.

At the end of October the International Association of Scientologists International, (the IAS) holds an annual event at Saint Hill in the United Kingdom. At this event the past year's accomplishments in the fields of human rights and social betterment are reviewed, and Scientologists who have made stellar contributions in these fields are acknowledged.

This year Mr. David Miscavige presented Tom Cruise with the International Association of Scientologists Freedom Medal of Valor for all the work he has done to help others.
